Integrated education of children with injured hearing in schools of general education (project 2)
The project is supported in front of fund - “Rehabilitation and social integration” attached to the Council of ministers in the autumn of 1998.It has the aim to create conditions for real integration of the children with injured hearing in the schools of general education trough summary of the positive practices to the moment, introduction of new approaches, forms and methods of work. The most important thing is the unity between special pedagogues, pedagogue in the school, in which the child learns, parents and psychologist. Only the joint efforts of all interested sides can lead to successful integration of children. The individual program for every child reports its abilities, special features, individual qualities and ambitions. It is the base on which we stepped at reporting the development and progress.
Children from different schools in Sofia are included. Rehabilitation office for is established in 151st School - partner of the project. The school management supported us and understood the problems of the children with educational difficulties. There is a budget for special pedagogue. The innovation pedagogue techniques in the school are the prerequisites for entering of new and new children with injured hearing and the continuing of the integrated education up to this moment.
In the project is included publishing literature for and by teachers, organizing of seminars.
Meetings of specialists and teachers from public schools, who teach children with hearing injures, were organized for first time. The interest was great – the pedagogues had what to ask for and what to share with the specialists. Unanimity of the main problems and questions, connected with the integrated education, was demonstrated. Activities in different spheres – applied art, ceramics, woodcarving, computer education, theatre and other were organized simultaneously with the main educational process. The aim is to enlarge the mental picture of the children, different professional spheres to be introduced, to enlarge the glossary fund and etc. This kind of activities was met with great interest and some were continued in the next projects of the Association.
Special proud from this period is the success of the group of the pantomime, formed in the period of the project - four gold medals from the Third National Festival of Pantomime for youth with injured hearing.
The results were summarized in serial of materials – three brochures of a theme “Integrated education”
